Panergy Extends the Power of icWord(R) to Mac OS X: Robust carbonized version opens and converts any Microsoft Word or AppleWorks file

Los Angeles, CA -- April 24, 2002 -- Apple's move earlier this year to establish OS X as the default operating system compounded its user base's compatibility problem of being Mac loyalists in a PC-centric world: File sharing between different operating systems and versions of AppleWorks became another time-consuming task. Panergy's latest release of icWord, its popular Microsoft Word viewer for the Mac, eases Mac users' growing compatibility problems. Now native to OS X, icWord 2.1 offers access to any AppleWorks or Microsoft Word document. Its improved functionality allows users to easily open, convert, view, print, and export files in the convenient RTF format. Full support for graphics, tables, footnotes, colors, and page attributes preserve all of a document's original formatting, and new keyboard shortcuts make navigation truly simple.

"By installing icWord 2.1 on a Macintosh, Microsoft Word and AppleWorks files are only one click away. You don't have to go through complex file conversions or change the original file settings. It doesn't matter how or where the file was created," explains Daniel Pohoryles, Panergy CEO and Founder. "Microsoft Word and AppleWorks users don't need to upgrade their software just to open the occasional file."

For users outside the United States, icWord's double-byte language support is an added benefit, especially in the growing Asia-Pacific region. icWord offers Chinese, Korean, and Japanese users the ability to open, view, and print Microsoft Word and AppleWorks files as well. The imminent release of version 2.1j will give Japanese Mac users the same robust functionality now enjoyed by users in the U.S. and Europe.
