Panergy Introduces Localized Viewing Solutions for Microsoft Word and AppleWorks Documents

Word and AppleWorks Files Opened Without Installing Original Applications

Apple Expo, PARIS - September 10, 2002 -- Panergy Ltd, a leading developer of software utilities for Macintosh, today announced the availability of icWord 2.2 in three localized versions: French, German and Italian. icWord, already available in English and Japanese, allows Mac users to open Microsoft Word or AppleWorks files without requiring installation of the individual software applications. The localized versions have been introduced as a result of increased European activities. Panergy will be demonstrating their solution in Booth CREA-8 at Apple Expo 2002, 10-14 September, at the Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles, Paris.

icWord 2.2 is a leading software application for opening, viewing and converting Microsoft Word, AppleWorks and ClarisWorks documents without requiring installation of these particular applications. Documents can be subsequently stored in fully compatible Mac formats. Apple users worldwide face significant challenges when attempting to open Microsoft Word or AppleWorks files, if these particular applications, or their most current versions, are not installed. Documents arriving in these formats often need to be faxed to the recipient, the text retyped and document reformatted in order to recreate the original document. Using icWord 2.2, the Mac community can use any documents created using Microsoft Word and AppleWorks, thereby eliminating costly software installations that are only required occasionally.

Panergy has also selected Anavis Ltd as its distributor for Europe. Anavis, based in Paris, will be responsible for Enterprises, large accounts and OEM sales.

icWord 2.2 opens all Microsoft® Word formats from Word 2.0 to Word XP, AppleWorks 5 and 6 and ClarisWorks 5. All design features and styles of the original document are preserved and displayed on the screen. icWord 2.2 preserves font sizes and styles; paragraph attributes - including margins, borders, alignment, spacing and numbering; tables and tabs; graphics and colours. Text can be scaled from 25 percent to 400 percent. icWord 2.2 contains features including the ability to copy and paste and export text into other applications, which is a critical daily activity in many industries such as publishing.
